What We Teach
The Bible - We teach that the Bible is God’s written message to mankind. All 66 books of the Bible were written by the Holy Spirit through human authors. As the Word of God, the Bible contains no errors and stands as the ultimate authority over mankind. It is always relevant and gives practical help, comfort, encouragement, and commands for everyday life. (Psalm 19:7–11; Psalm 119:160; 1 Corinthians 2:7-13: 2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20-21)
God - We teach that there is one true God who exists eternally in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Deuteronomy 6:4; Isaiah 45:5-7; Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14)
God the Father - We teach that God the Father is sovereign over the entire universe. He is the Creator, Sustainer, and Ruler of all things. (Genesis 1:1-31; Psalm 103:19; Romans 11:36; 1 Corinthians 8:6)
Jesus Christ - We teach that Jesus Christ is truly God and truly man. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit in the womb of the virgin Mary, so the divine and human natures were joined together in one person. Jesus accomplished our redemption through His sacrificial death on the cross. After three days, He rose from the dead, proving His power over death. (Luke 1:35; John 1:14; Acts 2:30-33; Romans 3:24-25; 1 Peter 2:24)
The Holy Spirit - We teach that the Holy Spirit carries out God’s will on Earth. He convicts the world of sin, glorifies the Lord Jesus Christ, and works in the lives of Christians to make them more like Jesus. Furthermore, He causes people to be born again to new life, enabling them to believe in Jesus and be saved. (John 3:5-7; John 16:7-9; Romans 8:9; 2 Corinthians 3:18, Ephesians 2:22)
Man - We teach that God creates all people in His image for the ultimate purpose of worshipping Him. Because of Adam’s disobedience, mankind lost their innocence, incurred the penalty of spiritual and physical death, and became inherently corrupt and utterly incapable of choosing to follow God. Every person has disobeyed God by having sinful thoughts, words, and deeds. Our only hope is the grace of God through the redemptive work of Jesus Christ. Through salvation in Jesus Christ, we are restored to fulfill our ultimate purpose of worshipping God. (Genesis 1:26–27; Genesis 3:1-19; Isaiah 43:7; Romans 3:23; Romans 6:23; Ephesians 2:1–10)
Salvation - We teach that salvation is by grace alone through faith alone in Jesus Christ alone. Salvation is an act of God’s grace through the redemption of Jesus Christ, who died on the cross to pay the punishment we deserve for our rebellion against God. We cannot save ourselves through good works or any other way. Those who place their faith in Jesus are forgiven of their sins, restored to a right relationship with God, adopted into God’s family, and given the promise of spending eternity in Heaven. (John 1:12; Acts 2:38; Romans 8:14–17; Ephesians 2:8-10; 1 Peter 1:18-19; 1 Peter 3:18)
The Church - We teach that God commands all Christians to join a local church, which is a group of believers who live in the same geographical area and meet together regularly for corporate worship. Joining a church is a commitment to love and serve the other members of the church. Thus, members of a church should encourage each other, strengthen each other’s faith, and care for each other in practical ways. (Acts 2:42; Romans 12:3–16; Ephesians 4:11-16; Hebrews 10:24-25)
Angels - We teach that angels were created by God to serve and worship Him, deliver His messages to mankind, and minister to Christians. We teach that demons are fallen angels who are evil, deceitful, and powerful, yet they are subject to the sovereignty and power of Jesus Christ (Matthew 8:29; Luke 2:9–14, 7:21; 1 Timothy 4:1; Hebrews 1:6–7, 14; Revelation 1:1–3).
The End Times - We teach that Jesus Christ is coming again to establish His kingdom marked by justice, peace, and righteousness. He will then defeat Satan and create the New Heavens and the New Earth, a place with no sin, sorrow, or sickness. Believers will dwell on the New Earth to fellowship with, worship, and enjoy God forever. (Matthew 25:41; 2 Peter 3:10; Revelation 20:1-10; Revelation 21:1-8)
Marriage and Sexuality - We teach that God has designed marriage to be a lifelong union of one man and one woman, as husband and wife. Marriage is meant to picture the covenant love between Christ and His bride, the church. Furthermore, God intends sexual intimacy to occur only between a man and a woman who are married to each other (Genesis 1:27–28, 2:23–24; Romans 1:24–28; 1 Corinthians 5:1, 6:9–10; Ephesians 5:22–33; 1 Thessalonians 4:1–8).
Gender - We teach that God created Adam and Eve, the first human beings, in His own image, equal before Him as persons and distinct as male and female. This gender distinction reflects God’s original design meant for the good and joy of the people He has created. To disagree with or attempt to change one’s biological gender is sinful and forfeits the joy of living in accordance with God’s all-wise and all-loving design (Genesis 1:27–28; Deuteronomy 22:5; 1 Corinthians 6:9–10).
